This was a wild ride. Captivating, thrilling, thought-provoking. A best picture winner though? Not to me but I see why so many people voted for it.
My most favorite component of this film is mikey madison, whose performance was so locked in and joyful to watch. This film absolutely doesn’t work if she doesn’t nail each of the choices she makes, and baby does this film work in that regard.

My Roman Catholic upbringing finally coming in handy.
I’m blown away by how gripping and poignant this was. Every two minutes I was in awe of the cinematography. The script was incredibly smart and well-paced. If I were to do college again, I think I would write about the symbolism of animals in this film.
All in all, a beautifully challenging critique of religious tradition, and a powerful reminder that religion is a living thing.
