Taxi Driver 1976
When one watches this film one understands what it means when a work of art is deemed a “classic”- it stands the test of time and space. Paul Schrader who wrote Taxi Driver shines a light on so many universal themes that are relevant still today: violence against women, socio-political issues of poverty & crime, prescription drug use, alienation, class issues, alienated men, & existential crises. Also, when one watches this film, one understands the brilliance of Jody Foster as an actor, wow. A must see!
