  i have not been immersed in a story like this in a long time, the atmosphere was heavily established right off the bat (ha). the movie maintained a sense of dread and uncanniness throughout, many of the more visceral scenes honestly making me flinch.

  speaking of atmosphere, haven't felt this depressed in a long time either. obviously you can't really expect a happy ending for a story like this, despite the ending being "good" in theory, the hopelessness of it…

  a fairly charming "coming-of-age" kids movie, the animation was lovable, though the plot overall was nothing to write home about.

  i don't know who decided to ramp up the music volume on every scene with a backing track to the point where you couldn't be sure it was intended to be that way, but i'll give it a pass.

  happy that despite obesity being the main theme of the story, it didn't end on a "lost weight and is now happy, yay" note.

  overall, enjoyed seeing this in the cinema. dial back the weird inflation fetish-esque scenes in the future though please.
