made me mostly sad :( the movie is much less inscrutable when understood as an autobiography (william s. burroughs actually killed his wife with a glass on the head stunt (not a spoiler)) and is made sadder by it too. hope luca guadagnino is okay

i feel like i’ve been carrying this around in my heart since the time i saw it first. after a second watch, im sure this is my favorite film of the year. (in between, i read uncle vanya, but that didn’t contribute as meaningfully as i hoped it would)
not everyone will be in that headspace, but this film benefits from your careful, patient attention. i dont think i can write eloquently or even coherently about it, but im grateful…
