This movie was such a great movie, the phrase “i saw the tv glow” is such a beautiful and strong metaphor for both trans people and non trans, it’s like hiding a monumental piece of who you are your whole life, and it’s extremely difficult to hide it again and again all the time that whenever that familiar feeling resurfaces again, you just keep pushing it further and further down until one day you’re 75 and realizing you’ve been wearing a mask all your life and never got to be who you wanted to be.
