the first hour or so was really slow. if it weren't so critically acclaimed, I would've given up after 20 minutes. the rest of the movie however, was amazing and really got me hooked to the plot. slight spoiler: the mystery is never solved. now I know this was artistic choice or whatever but that was really annoying. overall, good movie but only watch it if you have time and a long attention span.
p.s stop using this movie as evidence for anti semetic conspiracies. it's a fucking movie!
I really wanted to like this movie but I feel like it would only make sense if I watched it on acid
at first, I felt this film was incomplete, like their was something missing. it wasn't until I watched a film analysis that I truly understood the complexities of sofia coppala's brilliant mind. this movie has to be the most accurate portrayal of the male gaze I've ever seen. the viewer never gets to see what the sister's are truly experiencing, they will always be just a pretty face. I also find mens' versus womens' reactions to the movie very interesting.
