I first watched this film a couple years ago and it was really great back then. I had forgotten about it till I wanted to watch a Rom com today. On a rewatch it’s still one of the best modern Rom coms. Supernatural/ sci-fi elements can end up gimmicky but the genre bending metaphor only makes the Romance deeper. Cristian Miliotti can make any character likeable. Andy Samberg is always great, although you can forget he’s such a good actor. this film really highlights his ability to be funny and endearing at once. Swoon.
