This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I can see why people wouldn’t enjoy this film but I think it’s really important to acknowledge what the film does right; creating a discourse surrounding hysteria in women and the associated labels that historically burdened them. And I really think that if this film was more fleshed out and focused less on reiterating ideas and, instead, introduced complementary concepts which expanded upon these themes, then it would be a far more valuable discussion. Little Miss Sunshine 2006
Enchanting and irreverent, Little Miss Sunshine is a joy to watch. Whilst it can be quite ‘out there’, it succeeds in dealing with some heavier material in a refreshing manner, retaining its relatability throughout. The acting itself is captivating and each character was beautifully cast. You can’t help but feel good after watching what is, inarguably, a delightfully wholesome film. As such, it has rightfully earned its place as one of my favourites of all time.
