  A critically acclaimed misogynistic sob story pulsating with Freudian undercurrents, Mirror is exactly what it says on the package - the ultimate exercise in vanity. The order of Mirror’s scenes were not determined before filming. On filming the first scenes, even the actress was not told the context – not that this context becomes any clearer later on. Some people think this lack of any storyline or narrative is part of Tarkovsky’s genius. I just think it’s crap.
