The best movies (and other media) can show you exactly what’s most likely going to happen and lay its subject matter bare and still compel the viewer to continue along its journey. I could tell where the story was going, but that didn’t dampen its impact any less. The creator has utilized the weight of joy and grief with an equal mastery that is enviable. A great watch that will stick with me for a while.

Mars Express 2023
Not only is the animation smooth with a distinct style, it has the best natural world building I’ve seen in a sci fi film in a while. Dialogue at times can feel a bit quick with stoic explanations and analyses, but when the emotions reach their zenith the film knows how to utilize every aspect of its pieces to make something truly unique. The gut wrenching ending will stick leaves the viewer with much to grapple with.
