I don’t think this should have been filmed by a man because they’ll film it in a way that pleases the male gaze and a female director would have put more emphasis and depth to Anora’s trauma rather than dumping it in the end when she is crying on Igor.
The film also passes around a lot of offensive terminology even if Anora herself says it but the discourse keeps paving way to assumptions and prejudices against groups of people…

I hate that this was kind of good… though seeing Tarantino appear cracks me up because he doesn’t have a screen face!
Ngl, didn’t wanna watch this for my poor bias of Tarantino but I did hear positive raves of this film so I had to try it at least.
Didn’t enjoy that the characters said multiple times the distasteful n word and how verbally obscene they curse. Also don’t appreciate how bad mouthful they are towards women.

I didn’t get it.
He had serious mental issues and his psychiatrist wasn’t helping him ethically. She only hypnotized him to get his honesty out but wouldn’t do anything else besides listen to him.

Been meaning to watch this for a fat while now and now here we are…
The humor was pretty good and the dynamic between both “detectives” worked fairly well. March’s daughter served well too working with her father in solving this mystery.
Of course, love the 70s aesthetic.
Who knew this is the second, consecutive film I’d see with a father and daughter relationship and the father being quite young!
A lot of cinephiles overhype this movie though.
