The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2023
It's like a completed sudoku. I bet it was fun-- genuinely-- to fill in the beats of a standard movie with Mario things and get it all working. The end result isn't very interesting to look at, though. I enjoyed watching it enough, but I'll never go back.
You could have made a super fun movie out of all these pieces (I really loved the bit in Brooklyn when they were rushing to their job-- cute and fun and inventive), but they made a totally average movie-shaped corporate product. What a bummer!
