  I love Aubrey Plaza. Did not go where I thought it was going to, but I’m glad it went there. One of those movies that has this weird, quiet, funny but not funny tone that I can’t quite nail down but really like (which I’ll call CNIDQ for “Can’t Nail It Down Quality” from now on. I’m gonna go back and tag other movies with this too and look for more similarities.)

  I found this movie on a $2 DVD with four bad movies on it that I bought from a dollar general. It's so sketchy I think it gave my DVD player a virus.

  The child actors are ok but the adult actors are horrendous.

  The unicorn doesn't even come in until halfway through the movie.

  There's this weird scene at the beginning where the main kid just... Cops a feel on a statue for no reason???

  The mom's romantic subplot…

  I had the privilege of seeing the only 35mm copy of Akira in North America. Unfortunately that also means I had the privilege of watching the original 1980's cringy English dub. But I'm giving it 5 stars regardless. It was that good.

  The Visuals - Beautiful. I hate being the person who says "they don't make 'em like this anymore," but they REALLY don't make 'em like this anymore. This was made before CG animation was really a thing, so…
