so unique; i loved the static cinematography & simple, carefully constructed monochromatic shots which give a dead, empty atmosphere. it’s a very simple but powerful story that paints a picture of post-war poland as well as jewish-christian relationships. i do wish the story explored idas mind more, however. i would love to see the inner reasoning behind some of her decisions
