  Womp. Had me in the first third. Every time something nuts would happen to ratchet up the story, the film wouldn’t know what to do next and would immediately lose steam until the next bonkers plot point. Didn’t really actually have anything to say about religion or worship, even vaguely. I’m not one to harp about plot holes either, but there were too many for a movie that wanted so badly to be smart. Performances were good. Topher Grace cameo was the most thrilling part.
