Ignoring the fact that this is the second gory movie in a row, atleast this one was hilariously gory!
Jack Quaid is absolute fun and plays to his acting strengths as a timidly brave everyman - minus the jarring disability.

The Substance 2024
Disturbingly fun, but the silliness of the ending slightly undercuts the very dark tone of the rest of the film. Still it remains a well written, shot, and acted film about identity and self worth.
Both the leads give it their all and this movie does well with the notion of show don't tell.
Not for the faint of heart tho. Please beware. 👁️👁️
