  seemingly made for a 2007 white liberal US audience, though with the understandable backdrop that the US was strongly mooting they would bomb Iran. facile, basic and with the overwhelming message that there are people over there who like western culture, so please take pity.

  wanted to know far more about her communist family members whose motivations are boiled down to naïve proclamations of coming proletarian revolution and passing mentions of lenin and guevera, despite it ultimately resulting in their imprisonment and death.

  90 minutes of ambient screaming and background industrial murder that isn't going to leave my body anytime soon. he's up there with lynch for making sound burrow into your skull and refusing to leave.

  glazer is becoming one of my favourite working directors. he has a real eye for the psychic cost of being instrumentalised by the social expectation to enact violence.

  relentless, grinding, boring horror and the horror enacting it generates.
