  Amazing performances from Davis and Boseman.

  Feeling more like a play (source material) than film, the characters never become human (round) as much as monologues on a theme--art, success, blackness, violence, god, and money--with some personal history. This isn't a criticism--unless you go in looking for that type of thing.

  Also, there is a character called Toledo who is an amazing character played incredibly well by Glynn Turman.
