  The stamina of comedy in this is impressive. Every joke, reference and gesture has intention and layers and it’s just a joy to watch from start to finish. Definitely enjoyed it more as an adult as I understood more of the jokes than I did as a kid. I do miss watching the dvd and the far far away idol tho :/

  This movie is so incredible. The characters are so perfectly imperfect as they are very very well made.

  When Elling, an anxiety-driven man in his 40s, moves into an institution, he meets Kjell-Bjarne: a simple-minded, sex-driven individual. The two of them faces life together in a new apartment. The smallest challenges are enormous for them, and they are struggling with adjusting to their new lifestyle. However, together they grow stronger as individuals and as friends.

  This story is sweet and joyful- it's a story of two best friends and how they handle their mental difficulties as well as the world around them.
