I’ve seen this film about ten times and it’s the first time I’ve realised everyone except Michelle Pfeiffer is miscast? But Close and Malkovich are still very good to great in it? The last two scenes leave a huge impression. Almost everything about Hampton’s version of this works better onstage - it is bizarrely sexless and cold.

Another biopic where the dramatisation is far less audacious, thrilling, and brave than its subject. Never really wrangles with Lee as an artist or a journalist, taking her at face value. Winslet and Samberg both really good, everybody else wildly distracting.

Further proof that there is nothing gayer than loving a woman!

But seriously: A full-on fun as hell melodrama with three great performances, cinematography and editing on point, Reznor and Ross cooking that score on high! I want to see it 300 more times.

Gorgeous, horrid, harrowing and raw film about the toxic relationship between art and commerce. What will an artist give up to practise their craft? What does that practise cost? What cost is sunk into the art before any money even exchanges hands?

Brady Corbet proves again that he can ride the line between fullhearted bluntness and uncomfortable ambiguity better than anybody. Will think about this film - and the last 20 minutes - for a while.

    PS. Watch Vox Lux.
