  i very specifically said i felt bad using the word "normies" but i DO think it's the type of movie horror normies would come to me with like "omg you like horror... have you seen smile? its kinda like the babadook" and then ill curse mike flanagan and tell him i love his work but that the wave of trauma horror in his wake leaves something to be desired because it's not written to be on the side of good/fun or thoughtful/sincere it's just a mid mousetrap
