I feel there was potential for a suspenseful Sci Fi Horror under this mess of a movie, if the scriptwriter showed some constraint instead of revealing the extraterrestrial threat within the first 20 minutes. Was it intentionally dumb, or did I miss the satire?

Evil Dead Rise 2023
It delivers on its promise of glorious ultra violence as any good Evil Dead should, references to the franchise are subtle enough not to be on the nose, and Alyssa Sutherland Gives us one of the best movie monsters of the past decade. Yet, despite all this, compared to Evil Dead 2 and Evil Dead (2013), Evil Dead Rise was underwhelmingly ok. It gets the jobs done, maybe that's enough, but I craved more.
