Good Morning 1959
A simple but enjoyable film about the weird dynamics adults and children have with communication. For the brothers, they simply want a TV and that's all that matters to them. For the adults, they always have to look deeper into things that don't matter. Minoru's little rant about adults always using unimportant phrases to communicate nothing is a smart way to illustrate the lack of direct intentions when socializing. We're all children figuring out how to communicate with each other.

The Night of the Hunter 1955
Beautifully shot; incredible use of shadow, especially for a black-and-white film. An enchanting musical score and soft lullaby motifs help sprinkle fairytale-ish charm throughout the thriller. Robert Mitchum is great as the "Hunter".
This film being a book adaptation pieces together why certain character monments, like those between Ms. Cooper and Ruby in the second-half, feel underdeveloped. It's one of those cases where I'm sure the original book does a better job, but The Night of the Hunter is still a wonderful piece of art.
