This director is nimble at Polanskoid subjective scene-making and sequence weaving but forgot the Polanski cardinal rule: Paranoia is often hilarious. GET OUT, to which this movie has been compared for its use of racist microaggressions as unsettling omens, never forgot the Polanski Rule.
