An attention-grabbing film with outstanding actors. The plot is not as great as its predecessors Run or Us, but Jordan Peele can still make an interesting story with enough goosebumps.
Unfortunately, Peele left some unexplained issues behind (e.g. the Gordy's rampage, the standing shoe etc.) which gives room for fans and enthusiasts' random interpretations or, instead, could hopefully be handled in a sequel or in a crossover.
An exhaustive 3 hours film that tries to minimize the guilt and shame of Project Manhattan and its bunch of sadists over the assassination of around 150k innocent civilians.
The screenplay focus on a conspiracy theory that the bomb project was leaked to URSS (as if it would've changed the history course), instead of showing significant side effects of the bomb itself and the absurd idea of commiting a genocidal crime war by annihilating two cities in a 3-day gap.
Plot put aside, the sound design is well elaborated and the actors did an impressive job. However, definitely not worthy of a year's best film.
An accurate and realistic snapshot of people's dreams and their challenge to chase it, meanwhile struggling to survive in a broken country with its social inequality. After all, are we living our lives or just constantly pursuiting something? And what is a healthy limit for that?
