They clearly blew the whole budget on the toy factory set piece (plus marginally better lightning effects than the first movie), and I'd say it was money well spent. It's a movie I hadn't seen since I was like 7 years old, and I had a blast rewatching it.
Overall well-made. The actor for Rodney Alcala did an amazing job. The underlying story is still more interesting than the narrative provided by this script though. The marketing focus of this movie was how Alcala was featured in The Dating Game, but really that was just a footnote in the man's criminal history. Kinda felt like an opportunity for Anna Kendrick to self-insert more than anything. The choice to skip around to different points in the timeline does a disservice to the pacing imo. Still a worthwhile entry in an oversaturated genre these days.

I liked the first half of the movie. Out of all the Batman movies I've seen, this one certainly had the style down perfectly. It wasn't as sterile and clean as the Nolan films, and it wasn't as cartoony as the 90s Batman films. I thought Pattinson did a good job, although you definitely don't feel like you get see him as Bruce Wayne as much as you did with Bale. In this universe, he's a hermit who barely interacts…
