Leave the World Behind 2023
Leave the world behind’s dissonant plot teases that this movie will be greater than the sums of its parts. However, in the end the story is as predictable and simplistically enjoyable as an episode of Friends.
The movie is redeemed by a solid set of performances by a stacked cast. Particularly, the choice to cast Julia Roberts as a prickly and confrontational mom was an inspired and fantastic one.
