Just when you think you know what’s going on, NO YOU DON’T.

An engaging and thought-provoking courtroom drama that explores the morality and flaws within our justice system. While its narrative approach certainly encourages audience reflection, the story’s straightforwardness (and overly revealing marketing) took away some of the intrigue it could have otherwise offered. Unsurprisingly, Toni Collette and Nicholas Hoult deliver well-balanced performances, but I felt as though the film underutilizes its otherwise stacked cast. Despite this, Juror #2 remains a very compelling and watchable examination of empathy, guilt, and justice.

Did they wait 20 years for the sequel just so Ridley Scott could rehash the first movie with the help of ChatGPT? Because that’s exactly what it feels like. The mediocre CGI, flat dialogue, underwhelming score, and glaring historical inaccuracies had me rolling my eyes. Honestly, the only redeeming qualities were Denzel’s political scheming and Paul Mescal’s gloriously Roman looking nose—his side profile was working overtime.

But men between the ages of 18-49 will convince you this is the best film of the year.

After years of countless interpretations and musical iterations of Wicked, I was skeptical that the movie adaptation could bring anything fresh to the table—but I couldn’t have been more wrong. This beloved story was handled with such depth and care that it completely reframed the narrative for me, compelling me to see it through a whole new lens.

Cynthia Erivo’s performance was nothing short of breathtaking—her powerhouse vocals brought the house down and earned every bit of praise she’s receiving.…
