I finally got the chance to watch this film with subtitles. The first time round there was always the risk that they were saying something in Russian I had missed. Second time round, no danger. I thoroughly enjoyed this film.. it was different, not as hard-core as I feared when it started, extremely funny, and in its closing scene most poignant. 
It’s always refreshing watching new actors without previous form, to my eyes anyway.

A richly and beautifully filmed awful movie. Unbelievable characters leading us down a pointless road. At best pretentious, and my dislike was definitely exacerbated by the time I was kept captive in the cinema.

An interesting take on a now, a well known story. The music speaks for itself.

How clever to portray real, deep, inherited trauma alongside love and family understanding. True compassion inside an adventure of self discovery for nearly all the main protagonists. So enjoyed Kieran Calvin’s performance and Jesse Eisenberg’s pain.
