I came into this film with very little knowledge on Bob so it gave the film a lot of freedom to give its interpretation of him. I was mostly impressed with the film’s ability to hold back on itself. Compared to so many other biopics it felt so humanised in its tone and reality. It doesn’t sanctify its subject or demonise what can only be Bob Dylan’s unique personality.

Best Scene: The performance of Bob closing for the festival against the mix feelings it brings and how it’s effected those people we’ve got to know felt perfectly put together.

A movie with a pretence so prepared to be creepy and mocking it was really surprising to see how kind its heart was. It felt like a love letter to the small town community. It managed to handle its comedy at the right level, never becoming mean spirited.

Best Scene: The characters all finding out the bad news about Bianca and sharing the news with one another was heartbreaking. The depth of that reaction made you realised how real their love to Lars felt.

Fairly harrowing throughout, long in length tall in trauma. Criticism regarding whose perspective the film is from is entirely valid. It puts the most despicable characters front and centre and relegates the victims to victimhood.

Lily Gladstone (Molly) is amazing in it but you would have hoped her story and her sisters would presented as their story. You can’t criticise the performance from the white cast, they all come off as the boiled meat and vile looking characters that history…

I’ve been brought to a few screenings in the last year for films I wouldn’t have watched if my girlfriend didn’t ask me to come.

This movie is by far the best of those. Being as ego-centric as I am it’s hard not feel like I have something common with every film I watch. But this film in particular is hard not to shake a level of familiarity I’ve not felt with another film. Its main duo have great chemistry…
