Glenn MartinThankfully that's true, because Steve Martin is unique, brilliant and a national treasure.
The two-part format is perfect for Martin's life/career.
His early, stand-up career is 100% different from his movie career and I couldn't imagine these two lives smashed together under one condensed documentary.
There are times I wish he would break out happy feet or point dancing on an SNL cameo even though it would look weird and maybe cause a heart…

This is like a bizarro version of "Space Cowboys" where all the old guys are psychiatrists and mental patients instead of astronauts.
Murdock from tv's "A-Team" plays the sanest person in the film, so this gives you a good idea of what you're in for. Pleasence, Landau and Palance chew scenery and entertain. The last shot of the movie is classic Palance.
"There are no crazy people, doctor, we're all just on vacation."

Debbie Reynolds is great. She's charming, talented and does a good job with comedic timing. Eddie Fisher looks awkward, and when he's doing his singing numbers, it looks like a skit from SNL.
The best thing this duo produced was Carrie Fisher. Bundle of Joy is only joyful when focusing on Reynolds.
