Bong has officially created a trilogy of tone with his English-language films. I wish it hung together better but ultimately am so glad this madlad is making the strange original films he wants to make, and gives Robert Pattinson a chance to really cook.

Incomprehensible and baffling.
A series of scenes and little to bind them.
What did Francis want to say? Not sure. Was I entertained? Every damn second. It’s an awful film, but it’s also an antidote to the Hollywood sheen and its obsession with Joseph Campbell and other ‘safe’ tropes that make the theater’s unhealthy gut biome lack diversity.I was impressed that everyone somehow seems to know what kind of movie they’re in even though a film like this has never been made before. (Shia especially is absolutely COOKING).
