Documentaries, I think, should have a different set of criteria for evaluation. Really, it's all about storytelling since there is no script, controlled narrative, or cinematography. Directors, though, should get some credit. Bonus points if the director gets assaulted and detained for his own "safety." Truth is a bitch. Hope this has an effect. I have the luxury of not having to take a side, especially since there is no good side to take, but man, hard to walk away from this not completely pissed off.

Apparently it doesn't take much to convince somebody to kill a thousand people. A great lesson in authoritarianism. Find an enemy and mobilize the troops. An amazing piece of cinema, but with this subject matter, a low degree of difficulty, since the Butchers are still celebrated as heroes. Pretty sad the US did such a great job in supporting the effort. I'll need a pretty happy movie to follow this.

Such great humanity. Such great charm. Acting and writing were fantastic. What a cast! Directing with the time jumps really made it a better, more meaningful story. No real plot but I really can't find anything wrong with the film. So many strong scenes. Very much a girl's story; I only watched this because it's on my daughter's top four movies. Thanks for the recommendation, Lauren.

Maika Monroe getting followed. Maybe she could make a living on this. She's really good at that.
