I thoroughly enjoyed this charming little movie. Silly as heck but also touching and emotionally resonates with youthful optimism and idealism.

Nosferatu 2024
On one hand Eggers artfully creates an immersive atmospheric experience that sucks you right in. On the other, the shock and wow factor of his stylistic choices personally has worn off a bit after seeing his previous films, and the pacing and plotting fell off after the first act. It’s a good movie and there’s a lot to be pondered about the thematic symbolism of human temptation / confrontation of our own internal darkness and shadows. I too would risk it all for Lily Rose Depp, Lord Orlok.

I dick ride Christopher Nolan but it’s because of movies like this. This is fucking cinema man. It hits on every level.
Also, really interesting to watch this after seeing Matt Reeves’ Batman movie with Pattinson. Definitely pulled inspiration from a few moments of this movie like how Joker uses live tv with hostages and Batman fights through the dance club to get to Marroni. “The Batman” is incredible in its own way and offers a very intriguing take on the character and Gotham, but I don’t see any superhero movie getting close to accomplishing what “The Dark Knight” has.
