Midnight Special 2016
Overall, I really enjoyed this film. The first 3/4 was very successful in creating a real sense of desperation and suspense. I didn't feel the resolution was especially satisfactory though. It left quite a few questions unanswered, which can often be fine, but in this case it left a few too many. I just didn't feel the ending lived up to the stakes that were setup in the beginning. Fantastic performances all around though. However, Kirsten Dunst playing a dowdy mother made me feel very old--I was graduating from high school when she was the impish vamp in Interview with a Vampire! She was great though.
