A must-see. Sobering experience. Reminds me that even though I'm disgusted with my country's leadership right now, I have it 1000% better than millions of women in the world who have no freedom, no agency, no autonomy. My heart goes out to the courageous women in Iran. Don't let the length of this film keep you from watching. Americans should do everything in their power to avoid a dictatorship, especially one wrapped in religion.

The Day of the Jackal 1973
Only took me 50 years to get around to watching this. Definitely deserves its reputation.

CODA 2021
OK yes, it's formulaic. But sometimes the talent behind the formula makes it work. All I know is I was blubbering at the end. Also helps that I'm an amateur signer so it gets me at that level, too. There is a scene between a father and his daughter that is heartbreaking in its revelation of what this dad will never be able to truly experience. Your daughter is an amazing singer, but you'll never be able to hear her voice. Gulp.
