this movie was strikingly similar to get out, not surprising either that it came out literally a year later lol
not a bad thing that it's similar to get out cause i love that movie, my brain just wants to compare them and get out is better
went through almost the entire plot within the first hañf of the movie, not very difficult to guess what will happen next
i think concepts like obedience, the continuous theme of "cleanliness", nature v. nurture, would have been more interesting concepts for this movie to focus on

certain scenes were filmed almost like a documentary, which just made it feel even more real and perhaps vulnerable
throughly enjoy how fluid and discrete her descent into (?)madness was. she doesnt even realize it and it's truly fascinating. this movie completely blurs the line between reality and fantasy and i love it
teacher gives me the worst vibes, and the mom too lowkey
this movie shows, perhaps a more extreme, but honest depiction of how jealousy and insecurities can entirely warp perspectives of other people and yourself
