As someone who doesn’t usually like biopics (especially for musicians / bands), I loved this one! Everything about it was so fun. Even when the violence and drama was edited humorously, the movie still maintained some tension and made me concerned about the characters. Aside from being a great story, it also explored intergenerational trauma with nuance. Not a huge fan of Kneecap’s music but the soundtrack really added to the atmosphere and tone of the film. Brilliantly acted. Also wonderful use of colour!

Great concept, loved the cinematography both inside and out of the video game, great music. I really feel like the filmmakers neglected Apo like her father and brother did. Where were her missions? Her side quests? How did she level up? Which enemies did she get to fight? And that ending? I don’t know.

I appreciated the way the film explored the ways that we hard different parts of ourselves from different people, but the white corporate boyfriend narrative was testing me. It sidelined all the most interesting aspects of the movie. Loved the music, loved Bilal Hasna’s performance, I laughed quite a lot throughout the story.
