  ALRIGHT, I GET IT!: The Film

  On one hand, this film is incredibly well made, profound and has some incredibly powerful imagery.

  On the other hand, it has 45 minutes of incredibly unnecessary setup, a documentary style that just hurt the films intrigue and made it feel like it would've been better if it were just character driven.

  Yes, I get it, nuclear war is bad and I agree that this film does a good job of portraying its horrors and why it must be avoided at all costs. That doesn't mean it's a particularly good example of how to use this medium though, unfortunately.

  Saw V 2008

  Okay everyone saying Saw is absolute dogshit after 1 were lying because so far it's only been 2 and 3 that were bad. 5 continues where 4 left off and in some ways executes things better than 4, and in some ways worse. This movie feels the need to recontextualize Saw 1-3 for seemingly no reason other than fanservice? Like sure, a lot of shit in those films didn't make much sense but the recontextualisation doesn't exactly help them all…
