    If this came out in 2004, a trailer for it would automatically play before the DVD you rented from Blockbuster and that guy with the deep voice would say "Kieran Culkin is...A Real Pain." And he wouldn't be lying.

    Also maybe that guy with the deep voice is Jack from Sideways (2004).

    MAN, I love California! Fun to go from San Diego to the Central Coast with this one.

    Enjoyed all the time spent with Paul Giamatti's Miles, but Jack is a horrible guy; insecure, vain, boyish and selfish. And somehow, with how this is written and acted, their friendship, in its achy imperfection, resonated as sincere and meaningful. HOW?

    Miles and Maya on the porch, talking about wine, is my favorite scene; that was lovely.
