The Lobster 2015
Yorgos Lanthimos’ The Lobster is a bit confusing at times on a first watch, but I still enjoyed it. Colin Farrell and Rachel Weisz are amazing, and the movie is pretty funny. I think I need to rewatch it to fully understand the story and its themes, but I feel like I could understand the “big picture.”
Rating: 4 stars, will watch again.

Red Rocket 2021
While the main character/film is problematic, I really enjoyed Red Rocket. It is not a “feel-good” movie, but an interesting character study. Simon Rex did a phenomenal job playing the narcissistic main character, Mikey. Red Rocket is also gorgeous to look at, and it made the small town feel real to me (like I had been there, etc.).
Red Rocket, while problematic, is still a well-made and interesting film from Sean Baker that I will be coming back to at some point.
Rating: 5 stars.

A Beautiful Mind 2001
Not too many notes here. Russell Crowe’s performance as John Nash is incredible. I will admit that this film is the definition of “Oscar-bait,” but it is still well-made in my opinion.
I would definitely recommend A Beautiful Mind to anyone.
Rating: 4 stars.
