This is a beautiful movie full of grounded characters and effective social commentary, but what draws me to it the most is the way it captures a particular feeling that draws me deeply to a lot of British art - a feeling of pervasive sadness, and a simultaneous sense of community, love, and understanding amidst it all. I’m a huge burial fan, and it’s no mistake that he’s taken so many samples from this film. This films characters are each other’s angels, whether they fall or transcend.

A terrifying unknown creature that gradually gets more and more about its life cycle revealed as the movie progresses, each new reveal growing more horrifying as we realize the truly unstoppable nature of the xenomorph, all set against a beautiful backdrop of biopunk vibes and retrofuturistic technology. EVERYTHING I WANTED AND MORE

This is a beautiful film that translates the dense and literary world of dune into pure cinema. Though lots of very cool and nuanced moments from the books were cut, their spirit prevailed in and was expanded upon by the narrative of the movie.

True blockbuster spectacle, while also retaining what makes the Dune universe so strange and genuinely different in a sea of sci fi tropes and repeated concepts. Everything an adaption should strive to be. Five stars.
