I think upon closer inspection it is really worth asking why the genre of this film falls categorically under horror. The usual conventions of the horror genre are lacking here: somber lighting, anxiety-inducing camera work and foreboding, malevolent acts committed by monsters - at night.

A 90-minute, single-room shot that is perhaps one of the best explorations into epistemology (ie. the theory of knowledge) that I can think of in the film world. (ATTN: SPOILERS) I appreciated the almost ‘cult-film’ cinematic style that’s very reminiscent of certain grindhouse formats within this movie. For those horror fanatics that are nostalgically reminiscent of the ‘body horror’ sub-genre of the 1970s and 1980s where prosthetics and practical effects were prized talents, this film is a hat that certainly nods off in that direction.
