Perhaps I shouldn't take this documentary so seriously, but leave it to an US production to talk about the expansion of cats around the world thanks to european colonialism without ever mentioning the fact that the introduction of such an excellent predator (as is highlighted by this film) to islands where it was an invasive species led to the extinction of local and endemic wildlife. A dramatic movie that talks about misplaced faith. The main theme is, of course, the grief of a mother for her child (as well as gender and related expectations in society, but that's truly a topic for another time), but I decided to watch this movie mainly because I read about the discussion of christianity and faith as a point of debate, so that's where my thoughts are focused after watching it.
