  Easily one of the most beautiful films I’ve ever seen. Everything is so serene and painterly. Really enjoyed it up until the last few minutes of the film which appears to come out of nowhere as we follow Angel on his quest for forgiveness. Logically it is all perfect and the feelings the film illicit are so intense rising from complete tragedy and contemplation of goodness and aesthetics as well as god.

  Drags because it’s boring and the plot is absolutely ridiculous in a way that totally removes all reality and stakes from the film. All of the characters are unbearable or totally vacuous except for Craig. The acting where they must be excited was so cringe and unbelievable. Has no resemblance to the original which was great fun and a proper disruption to the genre with gorgeous direction and cinematography. Boo!

  Then there’s this absolutely intense horrific shot towards the end, an extreme closeup.
