    Interstellar certainly has its flaws (with its half-cheesy, half-endearing sentimentality; over-exposition; and questionable plot holes) but I have to give Nolan credit for the ambitiousness of this film. It's also the first film I've seen by Nolan that feels strikingly emotional, rather than a predominantly cerebral cinematic spectacle.

    As a sidenote, I'm sad I didn't get to see this in a cinema, as the visuals and music are wonderfully frisson-inducing.

    Recently, I've had the opportunity to see a number of superb films in unusually quick, consecutive and successive fashion, and I have to say Drive My Car might be the best out of all of them. The film is phenomenal, both as an example of thoughtful, life-affirming and introspective cinema, and as an exceptional adaptation of a previous text (being inspired by Murakami's short story of the same name).
