Princess Mononoke 1997

Ashitaka is a perfectly written neutral character. This film forces the audience to pick a side all the while supporting our protagonist. When watching this film with my friends I asked whether they believed the people of iron town or the forest was correct in the conflict. It was a 50/50 split, I personally believe the forest was in the right. But the fact that Miyazaki are able to build this sort of split in audience means that it is something special.
