Godland 2022
Trailer made me think it was going to be a Danish version of Scorsese's 'Silence'. It wasn't. Stylistically beautiful throughout, much of the second half left something to be desired.
Most of the film has a heavy reliance on panoramic shots of scenery, which often feels cheap in a film, but these shots bring a true sense of desolation to the film which strongly complimented the general themes of godlessness, (Im)morality and colonial ignorance. Imo this could have been contrasted…
