  The movie is as long as he was short (surprisingly average for the times)

  Had fun laugh out loud moments, but it’s always odd seeing contemporary humor and linguistics in period pieces.

  Some moments made me want to rewatch Barry Lyndon, CGI candles light the room much differently than real ones

  However, I did appreciate the overall tragic flaw of napoleon was that “he’s a loser who needs to be told he’s cool and his mommy loves him”

  Drunken Angel 1948

  An underrated Kurosawa classic. The adversarial relationship between a doctor and his young Yakuza patient becomes one of the most electric dynamic duos on screen I’ve ever seen. This is a movie that shows 2 people don’t have to see eye to eye to respect each other. I can’t recommend it enough

  A friend recommended me this movie because we were talking about stories that the protagonist hides pain and addiction. As much as this piece is heartbreaking, it’s also a realist portrayal of addicts and how it quietly hurts others around them. I freaking love this film.
