  Parasite 2019

  This film was a breath of fresh air and extremely well executed. My hope is that it puts more of the international film scene on the map. Genuinely good cinema isn’t restricted to US-based Hollywood and Parasite reminded us of that, we should all be thankful for it.

  The world-building around Wakanda was the most impressive aspect of this film. That was genuinely cool to see and they delivered. In regards to everything else, it felt like a pretty average Marvel movie.

  This is a Christmas classic that people can’t help but return to once the holiday season rolls around plus it’s an absolutely magical portrayal of NYC during the wintertime. This is enough for me to declare that Elf is GOAT’d and deserves 5 stars.

  Wonderful battle sequences and appreciated how focal Napoleon’s relationship to Josephine was during the film, but wished to see more of Napoleon’s political games that led to his rise. After all, Napoleon wasn’t only a brilliant military commander, he was also a brilliant politician, and I feel like that side of him was glossed over here. The film made it seem as though he was just at the right place at the right time, even if that wasn’t the intention. Hopefully the 4 hour version makes up for this.
